Raised Ranch House Plans
Any two story home that looks like a ranch style home is a raised ranch. This assumption is farther from the truth. If you look at a set of raised ranch house plans, they will tell you otherwise. Although, some bi-level homes can fool you by appearing to have some of the same characteristics as a raised ranch, you can be certain of the home style once you are inside.
Identifying a raised ranch home is as easy as opening the front door and be being greeted by a dozen or more steps that lead to the second floor where you will find the main living area living room, kitchen, dining etc. The foyer of the raised ranch is on ground level and the living space is just at the top of the stairs.
A true raised ranch house will have the staircase that leads to the main living area once you enter the front door into the foyer. However, it is not uncommon to see the raised ranch with a staircase on the exterior leading to a balcony that leads to the main living area. House plans for the raised ranch just like the traditional ranch home has a asymmetrical open floor plan typically in the shape of rectangle a low pitched roof, attached garage, and deep set eves.
Although, not as popular than it was in the 60’s and 70’s the raised ranch is still an American classic with emphasis on openness and family living. Home plans for the raised ranch are still in demand because of their efficient use of space and affordability to build.
